Projects

The member platforms of BiGEst contribute their expertise to the development of several research and development projects. Below you will find a presentation of these projects.

MuDiS4LS  Mutualised Digital Spaces for Life SciencesProjets

BiGEst is one of the IFB platforms participating in the PIA3–Equipex project titled ‘Mutualised Digital Spaces for FAIR Life Sciences’ (MUDIS4LS) and led by IFB-core (more information). This project aims to meet approximately 30% of the equipment needs of all IFB platforms through 2029 and brings together 17 partner institutions.

It has enabled us to begin sharing computing infrastructure and to set up operations at the Unistra Datacenter.

Madbot  Metadata And Data Brokering Online Tool

Madbot helps researchers manage and share their scientific data more easily.

As research data volumes grow, ensuring accessibility, reusability and comprehensibility becomes harder, and existing tools often lack automation, standardisation or flexibility. Madbot addresses this with a simple, standards-compliant solution that automates data organisation and description while ensuring quality and consistency.

Its intuitive interface requires no technical expertise, while behind the scenes it checks for errors and generates reliable metadata. Connected to platforms like Zenodo and ENA, it enables direct data submission. Its extensible architecture integrates with various storage solutions and metadata standards, offering interoperability tailored to each researcher's needs.

By simplifying data submission, Madbot encourages open science adoption and helps researchers contribute more easily to the international scientific community.
