The BiGEst's governance rests on five complementary bodies: an operational management team, a decision-making strategic committee, a steering committee in charge of coordination, and two advisory bodies — the scientific council and the users' committee.
The strategic committee
Made up of the directors of the partner laboratories and chaired, the strategic committee defines the platform's scientific policy. It decides on the allocation of resources, appoints the management team and the steering committee, adopts the annual report, and rules on the platform's evolution or renewal.
Scientific and technical management
Appointed by the strategic committee, the management team ensures the operational follow-up of the platform's activities: liaison between the governing bodies, monitoring of resources, an annual consolidated report, an activity report, and representation of the platform.
The steering committee
Bringing together management and members appointed by the strategic committee, this committee implements the services by coordinating day-to-day activities. It proposes new initiatives, and ensures compliance with national requirements.
The scientific council and the users' committee
These two advisory bodies, give their opinion on scientific direction and resource needs: the scientific council on behalf of regional research infrastructures, the users' committee on behalf of the user teams.
